WTF?

I'm sorry to be so elusive. It's really not my usual style to be wrapped up in mystery. As I'm sure you know, I like to call a spade a spade. However I must be very careful not to upset anyone or indeed any organization, so with that in mind I still can't say, well, really, anything. But I am fine and all will be good in the end. More information when things are clearer. Meanwhile, have a listen to some podcasts below or subscribe with iTunes.

Really missing you in the morning...hope you're back on the radio machine in Ottawa soon!!!!

Not sure what happened at Bob, but the show isn't the same without you. Frankly, I've been leaning towards Satellite Radio only, and this will be the final nail in the coffin for me and local radio. Perhaps CFRA for local news and traffic, but that's about it.

Take care, Vinney. Good luck.

I certainly miss having you on the Radio. You were a welcome fresh perspective and whether it was the original Studio 93 or the morning show I enjoyed your presence in my day. I had expressed my opinion to BobFM last week. The new show this morning was as bland and estrogen dominated that I considered listening to an all new channel. Thankfully I will get to enjoy your shows in the future, whether through the Internet or hopefully local radio.

All the best. Paul

Really miss you Vinny. I never laughed so hard driving into work as when I listened to you. Just don't know how much I will now listen to it.

I was listening to BOB FM this morning and said to my husband "where the heck has Vinnie gone". Sandy can't do it all, the new person, even though I am sure is a nice guy, is BORING! We miss you Vinnie!!! and I for one am done listening to BOB FM because you aren't on it anymore. I don't know what happened and I am sorry that you aren't around to give me the morning laughs but I sure as heck am going to let the higher powers at BOB FM know they have lost a devoted listener.

Where are you Vinnie? We really miss your style in the morning. Will you be back on BOB or do we need to find you elsewhere?

Vinnie,
You were a breath of fresh air and I really enjoyed your contribution to the show. I miss you in the mornings. Will not be listening to the show any longer now that your gone. Hope to hear you back on the Radio soon.

I miss hearing you on the radio and hope to hear an update as to when and where to hear you next. Just wanted to say thanks for making radio something great to listen to, not just something to have on to while away the commute, or usher in the workday. Best wishes for success upon success.

Certainly not the same without you! I could always count on a laugh or two or three on the way in to work in the morning (and I mean big bwahahaha laughs). Take care and all the best to you.

This is going on 3 weeks since you're gone, it kinda sucks. Definitely not interested in the am show anymore. Best of luck wherever life takes you :)

Been 3 weeks since you have been on the air, and it does suck. Not interested in THAT morning show anymore. Best of luck wherever life takes you!

No Bob for me if your not there!!
I will go to Boom!!

For Pete's sake...BOB FM FINALLY gets it right and then Vinney 'leaves'. Sorry the new guy makes the entire group sound like they are in a meeting...BORING!

Vinney out...Coday Jeffreys in...time to find a new radio station!

Hope you are back on soon or we will be changing radio stations. We miss you!!

Thank you for posting a little update so that Ottawa knows you are not tied up in some creepy cougar's basement. I am one of the many, many people who miss your zaniness. I happen to love the rest of the crew, but I have to agree with the others--the morning show is now too boring. I wish you the best, wherever you land. Just stay away from creepy cougars and I'm sure you will be fine.

You were the reason I listened to Bob FM in the morning. You made it fun and the morning show now is a flop. The new guy is as boring as boring gets and Mel and Hammer just can't bring it. We miss you and let us know where you end up, because I will start listening to that station.

Marie said...

OK, this is just plain silly. In the two years I've been living in Ottawa, you were the only entertaining and capable presence at BOB. Your banter with Mel was the funniest thing on the radio, especially with that "getting to know you through philosophy" feature. Sandy is useless, that bossman person is BOOOOOOORING and the show is just lame. Can't wait for you to resurface on the air somewhere!

This new morning show absolutely sucks without you. I absolutely hate it and will not be listening to it any more. Really like your sense of humor. I hope you will be back

Has he left for sure? I havent heard a thing?????

Hey Vinney...

I hope this is the contractual cooling off period between you announcing you have another job (say at Boom) and you going there, rather than the period after you've been let go.

You must come back to radio!

Scott M. said...

In the meantime, how soon is soon? Can you state a date when more information will be coming?

Cindy said...

Well, I can only imagine this was your decision, a better opportunity for you (maybe TV?!). Bob would never have let you go!
I was very pleased to have met you and to be able to tick one of my 'bucket list' items off (be in the studio during a radio broadcast, and on my birthday)!
All the best Vinney, whatever you decide and wherever you go , you will always succeed!

Anonymous said...

I miss having you on the show. You were the only one who could make me LOL while driving to work! The new guy is boring and it's not BOB's Breakfast anymore, it's a DOG's Breakfast!

Anonymous said...

I'm one of the many who find the new morning show soooo boring. Sorry bossman, you sound like a nice guy, but you put me to sleep. Vinney, you are the only radio personality worth listening to. Hopefully someone at Bob will figure out what they've done wrong and we'll hear you again soon. Best of luck in whatever life brings you. Lynn

Vinney you will be sadly missed. You certainly made mornings fun!! Just never knew what to expect next... HILARIOUS!!!!
I emailed to ask where you were and said you are sadly missed. I haven't received a response yet. I hope they realize what a large mistake they made...Best of luck!! Keep us updated as to where you are so we can all tune in and laugh once again!

Vinney, I have enjoyed listening to your banter with Mel, Sandy and Hammer. You were a refreshing change to the station. BOB has a habit of changing radio personalities more often than some people change their underwear. I've noticed a pattern beginning way back when with Kevin McGowan. Hosts leave but no explanation is ever given. Let me say you will be missed and I certainly hope BOB realizes before it's too late that you are a host that can not be replaced easily. Thank you for the time you did give us. Julie

Julie said...

Vinney you will be missed. I don't know the reason behind you leaving but be assured that BOB will have a difficult time replacing you. A habit has appeared with BOB stemming back with Kevin McGowan. Hosts leave and no explanation is ever given. I wish you the best and please know that you have made a great many people in the Ottawa area laugh during their morning drives.

Anonymous said...

Vinney, I switched from the evening show to the morning show just to listen to you. Now they are both boring.... gone to BOOM.. Hope you show up in Ottawa again soon...

Anonymous said...

The only reason I listened to Bob FM at night was that I loved listening to you, and when they put you on in the morning....I love listening to Sandy.....well I thought they had combined the best of all worlds!!! The combo was great! Unfortunately, short lived. Sorry to hear that you are not there...and not sure how Bob is going to make this right!!!!
Hope you land in a really good place!! Good luck to you!

Karen said...

Splendid indeed. I would even go so far as to say superlative.

Okay I am officially intrigued. I honestly thought you were just on holiday til I stumbled on to this post...yikes...wtf is right!

Is it a visa thing? Do you need a Canadian wife? haha.

Anonymous said...

Vinney, mate, I have to be honest, but I was surprised your refreshing approach and dry British humour got an airing in the first place from the corporate suits that have radio stitched up in this town (care to tell me the difference between Bell-owned BOB and Bell-owned Majic. Anyone?)

Be sure to let us know where you end up so all the ex-BOB listeners know where to tune...

Anonymous said...

Ok, since you can't say anything that must mean lawyers are involved which means that some ridiculous executive must have his knickers on a knot over something. Did you say "bangers and mash" on the air and not give the appropriate disclaimer? Honestly, you were the funniest and most refreshing personality on the radio and it's just wrong you are off the air and silenced. Take care and hope to hear you somewhere SOON!!

Vinney,

BOB just isn't the same without you. I agree a big WTF! I really enjoyed your Never Hour on Friday nights...loved the vibe and the new music to go and look into. After you switched to mornings and I could always count on many smiles and laughs throughout the morning...great way to start my day. I hope to hear you back on radio soon.

Anonymous said...

Gave one more chance to the morning show on Bob today. But I must agree with the others. Without Vinney, the show is boring. Will be listening to a new channel. All the best Vinney. You are a talented host.

Anonymous said...

Miss you much Vinney! Stay in Ottawa, pleeeaaasssee!

You are a little treasure and we have been so lucky. All the best!

Anonymous said...

Vinny, where are you? Sandy just can't seem to keep the guys. First JR, then Stu and now Vinny. WTF...

Anonymous said...

Totally not the same without you. Sandy, Mel and Hammer are good, but they're lost without you. Keep us posted with where you're going next!! (PS -- I'm not listening to BOB in the morning anymore)

Anonymous said...

I'm not going to listen anymore if your not on the show.....

As a fellow Brit living in Ottawa, I can honestly say that local radio here is so dull and boring, with DJs (with stupid pseudo-names) stuck in time-warps from the eighties. They simply weren't and still aren't funny. Until you came along. You made the quaint dull boring Ottawa evening and morning radio listenable. I noticed the other presenters trying to be like you also... You raised the bar for sheer entaertainment value. What happened - were you a bit too exciting for them???

Anonymous said...

Missing you in the morning. Driving to work was never so much fun. Hope to listen to you again very soon!

Anonymous said...

Sorry to say I have resorted to listening to my IPod for the drive in to work. The morning show is just not the same without you. It's boring and it's almost as if everyone is affraid to say what they really want and the so called humour is just BLAH! I absolutely love your dry sarcastic sense of humour. Hope to hear you on the air soon.

Sincerely,
Ex-Bob FM listener.

Will we get to hear you in Ottawa?

Vinney I miss listening to you on the radio. Sandy has a way of going through hosts. Hope you are OK and that you will show up on the radio again. I love your sense of humour!

I have to agree with everyone else I have been listening to Bob Fm for years and always liked the morning show. Stuntman stu was gerat and then when he left I didn't think they could replace him but, then when you started in April I loved it.I love Sandy but, without a funny sidekick the show is not the same at all!! Started to listen to Boom instead

Anonymous said...

Gotta agree with everyone else, BOB FM is not the same without you. Time to find another station

Anonymous said...

The morning show is soooooo boooo-ringggg now.
I'm changing my wake-up station to something else.

Anonymous said...

Well it's bye bye Bob FM then. The show is now boring and bland, typical of most Canadian Radio shows I'm afraid. Shame Bob FM didn't have to balls to stick with something different and fresh. Good luck Vinney in your ventures, and thanks for the laughs you gave us for the brief time you were allowed to!

Anonymous said...

You were the best thing about Bob FM. I started listening because of you and it is boring without you.

Anonymous said...

I'm so disappointed to learn that you're no longer on the radio. You're the reason why I listened to Bob FM - since your evening show with retro new wave British music. The morning show is not the same without you - sorry but it's boring. You brought a lot of fun, a unique perspective and were a pleasure to listen to. Wishing you all the bsst in everything you do. Stay in Ottawa (despite the winter weather)!

Anonymous said...

"Keep Your Pecker Up" mate! Let us know where you land next.

p.s. I'm not sure if this comment will actually get published- Just like the radio suits that don't "get" your sense of humour and dry wit.

alisons said...

I am beside myself. Absolutely gobsmacked. Followed your radio career (NOT in a creepy cougar way) since first hearing you on BOB, listened to every "stand in" show, and then you came to mornings, yay:) Have listend to BOB for years, way back to "Kevin & The Shark", but you made it your own. And we'd laugh, and we'd giggle, and I am beside myself with..............well, whatever one would be beside themselves with in this situation. Hurry up and take your holiday and get back on those airwaves Vinney, things are just not right in the world at present!!

Dave said...

Definitely like the others, you are the reason I start listening to Bob, love your evening shows with all the great British tracks, it was so refreshing and funny when you're at your best with your humour. Thank you so much for the cheers when I need it the most. BobFM is now so dry and lame, I have deleted it out of my pre-tuned radio station... hope they realize what they have lost.

I wish you all the best and hopefully I will hear you soon on the waves or maybe from the Net.

The show sucks since you left. Hammer is no replacement at all. He has ZERO personality and no funny bone what-so-ever.
